This bottom-up way of building the CST requires a stack-like structure for temporarily storing the bindings. The original implementation used an AssemblyScript Array — a managed, dynamically-resized array. This was convenient, but it meant that in some scenarios, pushing a binding could be quite expensive (allocate a new backing buffer, copy all elements, free the old one).
