Greetings and welcome to TechScape. I'm Blake Montgomery, the Guardian's American technology correspondent. As New York's spring warmth remains elusive, I'm curled indoors with Nicholas Carr's "The Shallows: How the Web Reshapes Our Thinking." This Pulitzer-nominated work, released when the iPhone was a toddler and Facebook barely out of kindergarten, offers a compelling snapshot of our digital apprehensions from an era when Google Chrome was in its infancy and Firefox ruled my browser. A comprehensive review will follow, but my initial take is that Carr's insights have aged remarkably well.
